Rockjewel had hopes fulfilled with Dance Legend Wow Prism High Hopes

When I first saw photos of the Wow Prism collection by dance Legend I thought it looked nice, but I wasn't overwhelmed. Still decided to order Posion and was surprised that it was so much more beautiful irl.
I bought High Hopes from Llarowe a while ago, if I remember correctly it was on sale. I'm as impressed by this as with Poison, lots of shimmer, beautiful scattered holo with lovely color shifts.
The formula is excellent, most DL-polishes are like that. Almost a one-coater but two makes perfect. Another good feature is that it almost looks like a glitter polish, but not any problems removing it.
As always I use Sally Hansen Hard as Nails as basecoat and Orly Sec'N Dry as topcoat.

I took pictures both outside in the sun and inside with artificial lighting.

Rockjewel goes D.U.I. with Dance Legend Chameleon Knight

I put it on. I thought it was a bit boring. OK, it was shiny, it shifted a bit in blackened gold and bronze, but nothing like swatches I have seen of it. Decided to wear it for one day anyway.

The morning after i got into my car and drove away to work. It was not full sun, thin clouds let the sun shine through a bit. I was driving, concentrating on the road and all of a sudden I caught a glimpse in the corner of my eye. Something fantastic! Silver, blue, gold, bronze, blurple! It was really, really difficult to keep my eyes on the road and the traffic, my nails were screaming for attention with all this beauty! Lots of ohhs and aaahhs, hoping for traffic lights to turn red so I could take another good look at it.
Of course I could not resist showing this lovely-ness to some of my colleagues (those that appreciate beautiful nail polish) and got yet another bunch of ooohhs and ahhhs.

The formula is good. It's not sheer, but two coats are needed. It gets a bit streaky but this is not a big problem. The only real issue I have with this is that every little irregularity on the nail shows. A good ridgefiller is probably the solution, I think I need to buy one...

Then the task of trying to catch this with the camera. Not possible... When I saw the photos I decided not to blog about this polish at all, but I picked out a few pics anyway that I think at least are ok, and here they are.
Don't let them discourage you from buying this polish, or any other polish from the Chamelion collection, they are truly beautiful!

Rockjewel feels intoxicated with Dance Legend Wow Prism Poison

Got some really nice shipments this week. One was from Dance Legend. Normally you must be prepared for a long wait when ordering from Dance Legend but this time it was actually a bit shorter shipping time than the order we placed in October last year. I think this took 4 weeks from placing the order until it arrived. That's fair I think. Last time it took about 6 weeks. You can get these polishes from other suppliers, but they only carry a chosen selection of the DL polishes. I think it is worth the wait when you can choose among all these beauties.

The quality of the Dance Legend polishes is generally high. The quality of the swatch photos in the store is also very high BUT... the photos do not always show all the beauty you can find in these polishes.
Sometimes you buy polishes after seeing some really beautiful swatch pics and maybe get a little bit, but only a little, disappointed when you put it on your own nails. Almost always the polish is still lovely and there are no regrets buying it, but still... With time you learn that this is the way it is, and the expectations get a bit more realistic.
When it comes to Dance Legend it is sometimes the opposite, especially with the holos. As I said the pics are really beautiul, but many of the polishes are even more beautiful in real life.

Rockjewel hesitates but still shows Dance Legend Red Show No04

I wasn't going to publish this. Everything was against it. I wanted to have a red polish today. Preferably a shimmering one. I had Dance Legend Red Show No04 in mind. It's a lovely polish, quite dark red with just enough shimmer that it can be used as an everyday polish (as if I am ever guided by that) but still glittery enough in the right lighting to make you happy.

OK, started to put it on. A bit gooey formula so it was a little bit tricky. I put on two coats, got some on my cuticles here and there. Started to clean but messed up one of the nails a bit and put on a third coat on that nail. The clean-up was not too successful, lot of red stuck in cuticles.

Since I had a third coat on one nail I decided to put on the top coat before taking the photos.
Putting Orly Sec'N Dry on polish that still is a bit sticky makes it shrink more. Not happy at all.
Still went on with the photos, thinking that I maybe could get at least a few OK photos.

Then i looked at the photos... Really lousy! The beautiful shimmer was almost totally not there. The messy parts looked even messier and the red on the cuticles was even more visible.
Decided not to publish...

Looked at the photos again and decided to go ahead anyway. It IS a beautiful polish even if it doesn't look that way here.

Rockjewel back in black, with Dance Legend Shining Rainbow No64

I have neglected my Dance Legend polishes lately, some of them are still untried. Now when we have a new shipment on its way I think it is high time to use the rest of the old ones.

I got a few from the Shining Rainbow collection and this is one of them, No64. A bit boring that the polishes don't have names, only numbers, but the newer collections seems to have names so that is an improvement.

This polish is a black jelly-ish base with green glass flecks(?) that gives it a beautiful deep shimmer. It is quite opaque but still needs two coats. A bit gooey but still fairly easy to apply.
In general the quality of Dance Legend polishes are good, and there is a lot to choose from, both traditional types and colors and more trendy collections. The only downside, as I mentioned before, is the shipping time, 45-60 days is a bit too much. Not Dance Legends fault, the seem to handle orders within a reasonable time.

And now, some photos. It was difficult to catch the nice, deep, green shimmer, but still I gave it a try...

Rockjewel with love from Russia: Dance Legend Shining Rainbow #43

I had almost forgotten this polish! I got it before Christmas and haven't yet tried it even though I think it is beautiful. This week I re-found it and decided to wear it.

After I had put it on I regretted it. I was going on a business meeting the day after and the clothes I had chosen to wear did not match as well as I had thought. It actually didn't match at all... OK, dig deeper in the closet. There I found a top that I bought online a while back. Haven't used it much because it is a bit frumpy-looking, both the style and the color. Good thing it was inexpensive... The best thing with this is that it mached this nail polish perfectly. All of a sudden the top no longer looked frumpy! Amazing what a nail polish can accomplish.

The formula was quite good. First coat was a little bit patchy but it was perfect after two coats.

The base color is a dull pink and there is an entire rainbow of other colors in it, a fantastic holo effect. I think I know where the collection name Rainbow comes from...
If you look at the photos it is like seeing several different nail polishes, but I promise it is the same in all. :-)

I took these photos the day after and saw afterwards that my index finger was a bit damaged... Must have been a tough business meeting. ;-) Yeah well, it's time for nubbin's anyway.

Rockjewel gets nailmail from Dance Legend

On package after another arrives! This Saturday I picked up a package at the postal agent. It arrived already last Wednesday but I didn't have time to pick it before Saturday. That's the problem when you live outside the city and the postal agent is in the wrong direction from work...
Well, I did pick it up and it was a long awaited delivery from Dance Legend. It took about six weeks for it to arrive. That is the downside with ordering directly from their own webshop. The upside is that there is so much to choose from. It seems like no polish retailer holds more than a handfull of polishes from DL.
In this post I will present the first two polishes from this shipment.

First up is one of the multichrome polishes from the Chameleon collection, Roz. The color on this shifts from purple, to burgundy, to copper red and green. It is really beautiful! I have three more from this collection, it will be interesting to see if they are as beautiful as this.
The formula is a bit tricky to handle. Bald spots on first coat is not unusual. After the second coat at first it looked like it was enough, but then I discovered som still almost bald spots and had to put on a third coat. Maybe I could have gotten away with two if I hade put it on a bit thicker second layer at once. It is also a bit streaky, but as usual I'm not too bothered by that.
Some photos:

Second in line is a thermo polish: No. 173.
It's a turquoise polish with some blue and pink subtle shimmer. The color when cold is deep turquoise, when warm it is a really light turquoise-to-baby blue with the shimmer more visible. My mani was a bit sloppy, with shrinkage from the top coat, so I will only publish a few photos.
The thermo effect is not very apparent in these photos, It is really quite a big difference between cold and warm.
I like the color very much but the polish was at bit difficult to handle. Not so much because the formula but more because I'm not used to the thermo effect. It was strange to see the polish change color immediately after it was applied. This made it difficult to see if the polish was applied evenly or not. I put on three coats because of that, but I think two coats are enough.
